Lines for journeys

•September 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Our lifes are all along lines that show us our paths…I have been exploring lines in photos. Partly cause our class required it, and partly cause I really liked some of the photos.

Lines are such a wonderful way to draw peoples eyes across the intended space. They give depth, and interest in photos, and also allow  the photography to tell a story…Here are a few of the first line photos I explored.

To my readers, an introduction…

Well, this is my first post ever on a blog… Wow, what a feeling!!! Lol, I hope to bore many people with random thoughts and ideas from somewhere inside my mind.

Now, I am studying primary teaching, and am in my 4th year at this moment. I have come across an opportunity to do an elective, which was awesome because I have been wanting to get back into photography! So, I’m in photography 2 and have to come up with a ”theme” for my major work…….. Well, I’m think urban style, but not show what theme. Current thoughts run along the lines of a poem my wife wrote the other day.

Two Worlds

There are two worlds of which we know,

one is of light, the other is show.

Both are bound in joy and peace,

but only in one, must you find release.

This may seem difficult to do,

but you only need have one final clue.

Remember that you have all you need,

offerit to all, than you’ll succeed.

This life is of practice, action and show,

in the other, you already know.

That is why to understand,

you only need take, your brothers hand.

My concept from this poem was “your happiness is not dependent on your surroundings.” I’m not sure how many people read these things, or if anyone will see this, but if you have thoughts on this, please comment. Anyways, here is a pic with the style I was thinking..Note that I took this in RAW on my Canon 300d, and did marginal editing with CS Raw.

I think this shows the idea I have with colours in my urban style photos, but obvious, will be using some architecture and landscape focal points.

Until next time,

Namaste
